Volkswagen's Indian Success: 500,000 Engines Produced Fueling 'Make in India' Initiative

Pune (Maharashtra), India, March 18 (ANI): In order to assist ' Make in India 'incentive and bolster India's role as a major actor in the worldwide automotive production scene,' Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) has achieved a significant landmark by manufacturing 500,000 engines domestically at its Chakan plant located in Pune.

As stated by SAVWIPL, the Chakan facility serves as a key center for technological advancement and local manufacturing, playing an essential part in Volkswagen Group's global supply chain.

Locally produced engines such as the 1.0-litre TSI and 1.5-litre TSI have been engineered with cutting-edge emissions technology and enhanced fuel efficiency features, ensuring compliance with international environmental regulations.

Andreas Dick, Skoda Auto a.s. Board Member for Production and Logistics, said, "Producing 500,000 engines at our Pune facility is a significant milestone, reinforcing India's role in our global manufacturing network.
