Benni McCarthy has surprised with some unexpected choices in the final squad that will take on Gabon in the World Cup qualifiers.
Players based locally have been hit the hardest, with just five managing to secure spots from the initial roster of 50 athletes.
Notably, young U20 center-back Manzur Okwaro has secured his spot in the concluding lineup, whereas Ismael Gonzalez makes a comeback to the national side following a prolonged absence. Moreover, Eric Johana Omondi, Daniel Anyembe, and Richard Odada are anticipated to link up with their teammates in Abidjan soon.
