Washington D.C., [USA], March 9 (ANI): The twice Academy Award-winning music composer Hans Zimmer He shared his rationale for keeping away from scoring music for superhero films, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
As per the Outlet, the two-time Oscar-winning composer previously announced his retirement from working in superhero films after the 2016's Batman Superman: Dawn of Justice reportedly proved to be extremely challenging to develop.
Although he has previously been involved with the film series "The Dark Knight" trilogy, "The Amazing Spider-Man 2," "Wonder Woman 1984," and "X-Men: Dark Phoenix," things took a different turn when it came to collaborating with Marvel , officially, he has refused, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
When answering a question posed by Josh Horowitz about whether Marvel Studios had reached out to him regarding composing music for their superhero films post-retirement, Zimmer replied, “They have, but the timing never worked out well. To be honest, I’m exploring different opportunities at this point. You see, I’ve accomplished what I wanted; I completed the trilogy.” Batman Superman, Spider-Man, and Wonder Woman! I mean, what am I supposed to do? Should I focus on some of the supporting characters? Yes, probably," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Although he has moved away from superhero movies, his bonds of friendship and collaboration continue to be robust with many colleagues. Notably, Hans Zimmer maintains a close relationship with director Christopher Nolan, having collaborated on 'Inception' followed by 'Interstellar' and 'Dunkirk', subsequent to their work together on 'The Dark Knight' trilogy.
Zimmer mentioned that he has no interest in taking part in any Star Wars projects as well, since doing so would require him to "reimagine" them, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
