Significant and compact formations have been found hidden beneath the surface of Mars, sparking scientists' interest and curiosity.
The first of these structures, verified by recent research, is a submerged mass estimated to be around 1,750 kilometers in diameter and situated at an altitude of approximately 1,100 kilometers below the surface.
These results could potentially redefine the basic principles in the field of geology.
A sizable mass of low density has been detected beneath Mars' surface layer, potentially originating from the planet's mantle.
"It indicates that Mars might still be experiencing internal activity, resulting in the formation of new volcanic features on its surface," they added.
